Antique "DUBL HANDI" Wood & Tin Washboard Primitive
The Washboard has a double tin clothes washing surface.  This size Washboard was used for Lingerie & Travel.  The Legs are attached to the Top Board with finger joints.
The Washboard is marked:
"DUBL HANDI  USE EITHER SIDE ACCORDING TO FABRIC  COLUMBUS WASHBOARD CO.  COLUMBUS O."
"IDEAL FOR SILKS, HOSIERY AND LINGERIE OR HANDKERCHIEFS.  JUST THE RIGHT SIZE TO FIT IN A BUCKET, PAIL OR LAVATORY  PACKS EASILY INTO SUIT CASE OR TRAVELING BAG  COLUMBUS WASHBOARD CO., COLUMBUS, OHIO".
Markings are good; however, varnish would make them stand out even more!
The Washboard is the perfect size for displaying notes or pictures.  A magnet will hold paper items in place!

Used condition.  There are the normal scruffs & scratches to the Washboard due to use & storage.  There are stains & soiling.  The board above the scrubbing is somewhat shrunk.  Most of the plating is worn off the metal clothes scrubbing surface.  There is surface rust to the metal.  Sturdy.  Needs to be cleaned &/or refinished.
Approximate Measurements:  8.5" x 18".
Condition:  Used condition with wear consistent with age & use.  Other conditions are listed above.  Please look at photos for accurate account of condition.  Use zoom feature to see flaws prior to bidding.
