    Description

Talk about obscure!  This 9" x 11 ½" heavy-stock souvenir program documents the Gene Mann production of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES for the GREEK THEATRE, Los Angeles, in late 1950. Starring a now forgotten GERTRUDE NIESEN, "one of the outstanding personalities of today's musical stage" as Lorelei Lee, Anita Loos' original "gold-digging gal."  Also in the cast: John Boles, Nancy Andrews, Bryon Palmer and (the most famous of the bunch) IRENE RYAN (who later played "Granny" on "The Beverly Hillbillies") 16 years later. Complete with brief performer biographies, accompanying notes, photos and centerfold recap of the Cast and the Sequence of Musical Numbers, as well as "The Further Adventures of Lorelei Lee" by Miss Loos (reprinted from the New York Times).  A true rarity in minty (very lightly used) condition!
