    ORIGINAL 1930s TRADE - ADVERTISING CARD
    GRAHAM BELL
    Alexander Graham Bell was born in
    Edinburgh in 1847. He went to
    Canada in 1870, where he introduced
    a system of education for deaf mutes.
    In 1872 he became a professor at
    Boston University and exhibited his
    invention, the telephone, at the
    Philadelphia Exhibition of 1876. Bell
    also invented the photophone and the
    gramophone. His was thus a key
    part in the development of speed in
    communication.
