    AGE OF TECHNOLOGY AUCTION
Welcome to my auction dedicated to the history of technology. This summer I will be listing some interesting and unique objects from the industrial past. I believe that each object has a history and it is only a matter of time to discover it. Every object is being sold as is. I do not test, restore or repair any objects. I simply enjoy them as they are. Please, take a look at my other listings. There are quite a bit exciting discoveries this year!

WOW! ANTIQUE EARLY 1900s UNIQUE CLUTCH MECHANISM PATENT MODEL / SALESMAN SAMPLE!
    "
Up for sale is an interesting and one-of-a-kind mechanism. It comes from a collection of salesman samples and patent models and I believe it is both, a patent model and a salesman sample. An unknown inventor made it in the late 1800s, early 1900s, patented and then used it as a salesman sample to demonstrate this novelty mechanism to the machinery companies or even early automobile manufacturers! It is what I think a type of transmission clutch. I am not an engineer, but I've carefully attempted to test the mechanism to see how it operates. I believe the key here is speed and direction. There are two shafts with a covered mechanism box in the center, another mechanism nearby, and what appears to be a fork on the right side of it. If I hold the left pulley still, I can rotate the right shaft in both directions. It feels like both shafts are independent and rotate free. When I hold the right pulley still, I am also holding the right shaft. I can rotate the left shaft in both directions but with a higher speed. When I lower the speed and try to rotate the left shaft outwards, it catches the right shaft, pretty much locks it, and both shafts rotate in the same direction. Fantastic! It happens without me clicking any switches or pushing anything. I am just going slowly rotating pulley outwards and it engages the left shaft with the right shaft. The inventor even made a box to carry the invention. The dovetailed cover with a brass handle is placed from the top and I see some brass protrusions that are supposed to have small wedges or something like that to keep the cover attached to the bottom of the model. Those little wedges are missing but you can replace them with any wedges. The base of the model has feet. One foot appears to be slightly shorter than the others. I believe the bottom of the box warped and the foot became shorter. You can place something underneath to prop it. One of the handles has visible scratches. The model shows some wear and signs of use, but I believe it could be cleaned, adjusted, and probably some screws tighten up better. Since I am not an engineer and I cannot test this mechanism properly, I am selling this antique model and a salesman sample as is. In my opinion, it is a fantastic example that will be a perfect addition to any collection or a museum. I can send it anywhere in the world, but the shipping of is for Canadian and USA customers only. Please ask me first for the rate if you live in a different country
